Looking north on Mandela on a summer afternoon, it's pretty common to see the fog coming in over Berkeley. By nightfal it may or may not cover Oakland.
Oakland typically doesn't have as much fog as San Francisco (which is famous for its fog), but we do sometimes get fog! You're probably more likely to see fog in the hills, but again, sometimes we get it all over.
