William "Willie" Wilkins (–January 11, 2001) was an Oakland Police officer. He was working undercover, when he was shot by OPD rookies Timothy Scarrott and Andrew "Kop" Koponen. 1
Wilkins was the 46th officer to die in the line of duty since 1867, but the first killed by friendly fire. 2
Elmhurst Park was renamed Officer Willie Wilkins Park in his honor in 2004. 3
