The Webster Street Tube (sometimes mistakenly simply called the Webster Tube) is an immersed underwater tunnel connecting Oakland to the City of Alameda under the Oakland Estuary. The Webster Street Tube, which is used for southbound traffic from Oakland to Alameda, was completed in 1963 by Ben C. Gerwick, Inc., using the same design technique as the Posey Tube.
Between April 24, 2000, and October 31, 2003, both the Webster Street Tube and the Posey Tube underwent major seismic retrofitting.
The Webster Street Tube was a filming location for a car chase scene in The Matrix Reloaded (2003).
