1913 1

The Stratford Apartments were constructed in 1913 on the southwest corner of 25th and Telegraph. The building was designed by Arthur Rousseau (of Rousseau and Rousseau of San Francisco) for Mrs. J.F. Street, and was to be called the Wilhelmina Apartments1 By the 1914 directory, the Stratford name was used.

While the 1913 article doesn't mention wall beds, a 1920 classified ad does.

In 1927, the building was owned by Fred E. Clark and Margaret Clark, who were in the process of a divorce.

The building still stands, though shortly after moving to the neighborhood in 2003, then-mayor Jerry Brown got the building condemned. 2
