St. Theresa Catholic Church in Upper Rockridge dates back to 1925 when the St. Theresa parish was formed. It was named for St. Theresa of Lisieux who had been canonized in May 1925. It was initially known as the Church of the Little Flower and was on Manila. Today it is at 30 Mandalay Drive.
Church of the Little Flower
St. Theresa was known as the Little Flower of Jesus, or simply the Little Flower. After the parish was formed, the church met in the Chambers home at 5636 Broadway. Under Fr. Daniel O’Kelly, a building fund was started. The Church of the Little Flower at 5633 Manila was constructed, and it was formally dedicated March 7, 1926.
After 25 years, the church outgrew the "temporary" location, and a new location was sought.

St. Theresa
The current location on Mandalay Rd. was found, and approved by the archdiocese. An auditorium was constructed first, which served as a temporary sanctuary and opened in 1951.
St. Theresa School is next door. Holy Names High School is nearby at 4660 Harbord Drive.
