Federal Building

The Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building is an 18-story federal building complex downtown distinguished by pyramid roofed towers which allude to Oakland's County Courthouse and the Tribune Tower. Designed by architects Kaplan McLaughlin Diaz and David Hobstetter, the building was constructed as part of the City Center redevelopment project.
It was built in 1993 and named for Ron Dellums in 1998. 1

The Oakland Federal Building was dedicated September 24, 1993.

Roger W. Johnson was the Administrator of General Services.
Ronald V. Dellums was the Member of Congress.
Elihu Harris was the Mayor of Oakland.
