Restorative Justice focuses on the needs and recovery of all those affected by a conflict - survivors, perpetrators and affected communities. It also aims to involve all those affected by a conflict in defining the parameters of its resolution. It differs from punitive justice, which focuses principally on punishment against those judged responsible for a conflict.
It is a conflict-resolution approach currently adopted in a number of OUSD schools.
Ralph Bunche made the news for their approach.
