Project Hope is a project of the Alameda County Department of Health/Family Health Services and targets youth in West Oakland and East Oakland. The program serves 3000 people annually.
Project HOPE (Helping Oakland and surrounding areas Prevent Teen Pregnancy via Education) is a multifaceted, community driven teen pregnancy prevention program that utilizes a variety of approaches and strategies to:
- reduce teenage and unintended pregnancy
- promote healthy youth development
- increase communication between youth and their parents or other caring adults
Activities include:
- comprehensive sex education
- parent information sessions for parents and caring adults
The program partners with

- Girls Incorporated of Alameda County
- OUSD-Complementary Learning Department
- ETR Associates
- Youth Radio
- Beats Rhymes and Life
Target Audience:
Teens, parents, school personnel
