Pacific Iron and Nail Works, established in 1883, was located in Oakland and employed quite a few workers, although the company business offices were located at 132 Market Street, in San Francisco, California. The company produced all sizes of wire nails on 50 nail machines, with an annual capacity of 60,000 kegs of nails. Also produced at the factory was barb wire, fence wire, and other wire products. 1
It was noted in another source that the annual capacity of the Pacific Iron and Nail Works was more than 100,000 kegs of nails in 1883. 2 Also, it would seem that the rolling mill and nail factory of Pacific Iron and Nail Works was either next to physically or possibly even connected in some other way business wise with the Judson Manufacturing Company.
