The Oakland Floral Depot Building is a stunning deep blue terra cotta Art Deco building in the Uptown neighborhood. In 2025, the tenants include Gold Palm, Xolo Taqueria, and Cry Baby. The building was constructed in 1931 for "several specialty shops, as well as a large restaurant to be operated by Peter Bolas" and was designed by Albert Evers. 1
Part of the building was occupied by flower businesses, including the eponymous Oakland Floral Depot. Beginning in 2006, it was the site of the Flora restaurant; the restaurant name was inspired by the building's history.
The location was previously the site of the Roslyn Apartments.
