The Oakland Emporium was a dry goods store selling clothing and other items beginning in 1920. Fong Wan was the owner for many years.

Washington and 11th 1935

It started at the southeast corner of 11th and Washington. George F. Lowe was proprietor. A 1921 ad says Fong Wan was elected chairman of the board and president in July 1920. By 1929, Fong Wan had become the majority owner. At the end of 1935, the store closed.

At some point it reopened at 2781 Telegraph. The 1938 directory lists Albert and Richard Fong associated with it.

In 1939, the store moved to 517-519 - 14th Street in the A.D. Wilson Building, across from city hall. 1
