Not to be confused with Ebenezer Baptist Church, which changed its name to New Hope in 1893.
New Hope Baptist Church incorporated in 1924. It was on 33rd Street near West, and Rev. Samuel W. Hawkins was the first pastor.
By November 1927, Rev. J.E. Moore was the pastor.
In 1929, they moved to 37th Street near Market because of the construction of Herbert Hoover Jr. High.
In 1948, they moved into a new building at 892 - 36th Street. Rev. H.W. Watson was the pastor.
