The Library Advisory Commission is a public commission that "reports and makes recommendations to the Oakland City Council on Oakland Public Library policies; provides citizen oversight of Measure Q tax funds; and advocates on behalf of OPL programs and services," according to its official site.
The commission holds its meetings every last Monday of the month at 5:15PM in the Brad Walters Community Room in the basement of the Main Library. The public is welcome to attend these!
The Commission has 15 seats and Oakland residents can apply to be on the commission when there are openings.
