The Lakefield Apartments were at 608 Excelsior Boulevard (later 608 MacArthur Blvd.) The 12-unit building was completed in 1927, and designed by Ephraim Field. The building stood where the MacArthur Freeway now runs.
When constructed, the building included Spark stoves, Marshall and Stearns wall beds, and hardware from Simon Hardware.
In 1960, the building was offered for sale, noting that it had to be moved for to make room for the freeway.
