Father Jayson Landeza (born 1961, Berkeley, CA) served as the priest in church of St. Columba Church in the Golden Gate neighborhood from 1999 to 2009. For many years he has served as a chaplain for the Oakland Fire Department and Oakland Police Department, as well as the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. He is also a chaplain for the BART Police Department, the San Leandro Police Department, the East Bay Regional Parks Police Department, the Piedmont Fire Department, the Berkeley Fire Department, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the San Francisco Field Office of the United States Secret Service (USSS), and the San Francisco Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),
Since 2015, Father Landeza has been the Pastor of St. Benedict Catholic Church on 82nd and Bancroft Avenue in Deep East Oakland.
Since August 2022, Father Landeza serves as the Pastor of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish in Oakland. Divine Mercy is comprised of St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in the Laurel (High near MacArthur) and St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church near the Oakland Zoo (Dorisa near Golf Links). This is in addition to his role as Pastor of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Oakland.
