I.B.'s Hoagies & Cheesesteaks is a small local chain of restaurants, with two locations in Oakland, and one in Berkeley. They also have a sister restaurant called the Lunch Box.
One I.B.'s location was at 1601 San Pablo Avenue, in a cool flatiron shaped building at the corner of 16th Street and San Pablo. The building, designed by Alben R. Froberg, was built in 1950, and was initially occupied by a coffee shop. Since closing, the building has become a target for graffiti.
The other I.B.'s in Oakland is at 400 21st Street, at the corner of 21st and Franklin Streets.
The Lunch Box is at 1720 Franklin Street.
