The Hanifin Block is at 19th Street and San Pablo Avenue. It was constructed in 1878 for J.J. Hanifin.
NB: There was also a building on the west side of Washington between 7th and 8th known as the Hanifin Block, and a building at Market and San Pablo known as the Hanifin Building.
At the time the building was constructed, that section of 19th was known as Curve Street. 1 The building next to it is of a similar vintage and design. The building includes addresses 1901-1915 San Pablo (501-513 before renumbering.)
c.1886, the St. Francis de Sales parish used it as a temporary church.
Hanifin sold the building in 1905 to Dr. Frank L. Adams.
The building was restored in 2007 by Mo Mashhoon, and is signed as the Mash Building.
