The Giraphics mural is a painting of giraffes on some of the support pillars of I-580 where Harrison Street passes under it. They were painted in 1983 by Dan Fontes, and some of them repainted in 1994 because of seismic retrofit work. The giraffes have been featured on at least one Oaklandish t-shirt. The giraffes are based on the photography of Rick Mannshardt of the Oakland Zoo.
In 2016, the parts of the mural that weren't repainted in 1994 are being restored.
