Frank Eugene Brigham (c.1856 – March 24, 1932) was a business person, and later he was manager of the Townsend Apartments.

His parents, Calvin Oaks Brigham and Almira Smith (Brigham) married in Boston, Massachusetts on February 16, 1851, then came to California. Frank was born c.1856 in San Francisco. About 1870, the Brighams also began fostering Lena Brigham (Fuller). In 1869, Calvin founded Brigham and Whitney in San Francisco along with C.E. Whitney. After that partnership ended, in 1880 he formed Brigham, Hoppe & Co. He retired from business around 1900.

Frank married Mary Lolita Alexander (Brigham) (April 29, 1864 – January 19, 1953) in Oakland on February 16, 1886, and they had 3 children: Beulah Brigham (Johnson), Gladys Brigham (Rector), and Frank O. Brigham.

Home

The 1872 directory says C.O. Brigham was having a home built at Oak and 11th at the cost of $10,000. Unfortunately, a serious fire damaged it in February 1873.

The Brighams seemed to have owned both homes on Oak between 10th and 11th, 1007 Oak St. and 1019 Oak St. (before renumbering). The 1887 directory lists C.O. Brigham at 1019, and Frank E. Brigham at both 1007 and 1019.

The 1911 Sanborn shows the property divided, and the home at 1019 demolished. The Townsend Apartments were built there in 1915.

Brigham died in 1932. He was a charter member of the Athenian Club, and a Mason.
