The First Church of the Nazarene started c.1905 and moved several times over the years, including moving their building once.
[ There's a Church of the Nazarene listed in the 1898 directory meeting at the Odd Fellows' Hall. There was also a Church of the Nazarene in Berkeley beginning 1896. The Berkeley church started a mission in East Oakland in 1897. Unknown how and if they are all related. ]
Ninth and West
The church filed articles of incorporation in December 1905 then bought a lot on the southeast corner of Ninth and West in 1906 where they constructed a new building.
Myrtle Street
They worshiped at 9th and West until 1919, when they bought the former Myrtle Street Congregational Church building at 1420 Myrtle Street in 1919. 1
They sold 1420 Myrtle Street to the Cooper African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in 1940. 2
Fallon Street
Later in 1940, they moved into the former Mission Covenant Church at 1021 Fallon Street (where the Oakland Museum of California now stands). 3
But in 1948, the city decided it wanted to the entire block to build a new hall of justice. They negotiated with the church and agreed on a land swap and to move the building to 1600 Lakeshore. 4 While the building was being moved, they temporarily met in the Oakland Auditorium.

Finally in March 1950, the building was rededicated at its new location. In addition to a new foundation, they added a new vestibule to the front, set off with pink slate.
The church sold the Lakeshore building to the Gospel Chapel in June 1968. In 1972, the Rose of Sharon senior apartments were constructed on the Lakeshore site.
Redwood Road
While constructing a new building, the church met at Carl Munck Elementary.
The new building at 4500 Redwood Road was dedicated in November 1969. 6
In 1990, the church changed its corporation name to Bayview Fellowship, A Church of the Nazarene. 7
In 2021, the church sold the building to the Korean Community Christian Church, which had previously been located in Temescal. 8,9 The Bayview Fellowship entity is now defunct according to California Secretary of State records.
