Cypress Village (aka Peralta Villa Public Housing Community) is a housing project in West Oakland. It was originally constructed circa 1942 by the Oakland Housing Authority as segregated, all black housing.
The 1951 Sanborn map also shows Peralta Villa Annex between 7th, 8th, Center and Cypress (now Mandela Parkway) on the block previously occupied by the MacDermot Mansion.
