College Preparatory School, aka "College Prep," aka "CPS" is a private co-educational high school in Oakland, California. Established in September, 1960 at 6264 Claremont Avenue in a former 19th century farmhouse and an adjacent classroom building, there was only four teachers, 33 students and a vision to create a school where students are held to "high standards of scholarship and conduct."

The current Broadway school location on six acres was purchased in the early 1970s with 16 portable buildings bought from Oakland Unified School District. In December, 1982 the school moved into the new facility.

Harvard Review lists College Prep as one of the 25 strongest independent high schools (in academics) in the US.
