The Cardinet Candy Company was founded by Emile H.Cardinet in 1904. 1 Its products included the U-No Bar, the Baffle Bar, and Texas Tommy.

Emile's brother George Cardinet joined the company about 1909.

They broke ground for a new factory at 2152-2172 Market St. at West Grand Ave. in 1916.

In 1925, the candy was shipped to 28 states. 2

At some point Cardinet was acquired by Ralston-Purina; in 1978 Ralston-Purina sold the company to Annabelle's Candy in Hayward. 3
