The Betterway Famous Family Restaurant (formerly known as The Better Way Lunch and Dining Room) featured Chinese and American food, with James F. Yee, proprietor. It was in business from 1946 1 to at least 1980. It was originally located at 7533 MacArthur Blvd, and moved across the street to 7540 MacArthur in 1961.
7540 MacArthur was a former Hagstrom's / P&X Foods store, and the move occurred sometime between April 5 and September 20, 1961. Based on images available from Google Street View, the building at 7533 MacArthur was torn down prior to 2008, and the 7540 building was torn down between November 2017 and February 2019. The restaurant's sign at the 7540 MacArthur location, which said "Famous Chinese Food" on one side (as seen in one of the images below), and Famous Family Restaurant on the other (as seen in this Google Street View from August 2016), was removed sometime between April and November 2017, long after the restaurant closed and a few months before the building was demolished.
