The Beacon Apartments are at 637 Beacon Street, and were built in 1927 as the Lake Knoll Manor Apartments. (Not to be confused with the apartments at 589 Merritt Street, which were known as the Lake Knoll Apartments.)
When constructed, the apartments included Rip Van Winkle wall beds, and Spark Stoves. The reinforced concrete building was designed and engineered by the Arthur Young Company, and built by A.J. Clipper. 1
