Barlata was a tapas bar and restaurant at the northwest corner of 49th Street and Telegraph Avenue that opened in 2009, and received mostly favorable reviews.
In July of 2014, the owner announced that the restaurant would be closing so he could focus on a newer restaurant - also called Barlata - in Austin, Texas. A new restaurant called Grange Hall was expected to open in its place later in 2014. After some permitting delays for the new restaurant, Barlata finally closed in early November of 2014. Grange Hall is now expected to open in early 2015.
