Art's Crab Shak was a long-time bar and restaurant at 4031 Broadway, in business in various forms from 1963 to 2015. It was "noted for its distinctive sign, garlic crab, and unique pay-before-you-order policy," According to Inside Scoop, it closed when the manager (and owner of the building) decided to retire. 1 It was originally known as Art's Buffet, and references go back to at least 1944.
