Arcata House was a lodging house at what would now be 1432 San Pablo where part of the Lionel J. Wilson Building now stands. It was there from 1886 until it was destroyed by a deadly fire in 1903. 1
Oakland firefighter Frank Parker was killed in the fire, and firefighters A. Sicotte and D.J. Barr were badly injured. The building was a complete loss, and nearby buildings suffered damage. At the time of the fire, the building was owned by Frank J. Woodward, and the lodging house was run by Mrs. M.M. Evans. 1
