Description The Improving Pregnancy Outcomes Program (IPOP) is dedicated to reducing infant mortality within the African American community in Alameda County. Our goal is to reach low-income, medically and socially at-risk pregnant and parenting women, fathers, infants and other stakeholders to provide the necessary resources for a positive outcome. IPOP approaches include:
  • Case management
  • Group health education
  • Fatherhood services
  • Community outreach
  • Information & referral
  • Health awareness campaign
  • Peer health leadership
  • Provider training
  • Local health systems change

IPOP is one of over 100 programs across the country that is federally-funded to reduce infant mortality and improve perinatal health outcomes under the auspices of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
Eligibility

Low-income pregnant and parenting African American women, men, and their infants

 

 

Clients must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be African American.
  • Must be low-income.
  • Must be pregnant or be a parent of a child less than 2 years old.
  • Must live in one of the IPOP zip code areas below:

94607 West Oakland
94608 Emeryville
