914 Longridge is a Tudor-style house designed by Miller and Warnecke in 1922.

It was built for Nicholas Ball, who was with the Oakland Fire Department for many years and retired as OFD chief in 1915. The house was built with "the latest electrical appliances, including an electric range in the kitchen." 1 The Balls lived there until December 1943, when they passed away within 10 days of each other.
