3600 MacArthur is a former gas station at the corner of Magee and MacArthur. It has had a number of owners since opening c.1941.
The first reference found to it as a gas station is the 1941 directory, which lists Lee M. Salomon as the proprietor. He had previously worked at the gas station at 3432 Hopkins (as MacArthur was previously known), and been a manager with the Shell Oil Company before that.
The 1944 directory lists it as Joe's Associated Service (which can be seen in the background of this 1945 photo.) The 1967 directory lists it as C.R. Mac Beth's Phillips 66 station.
County tax records from 2004 show that in 1976, Phillips Petroleum sold it to the Oil Shale Corporation and Southland Corporation. It was then purchased by Henry Hall in November 1976, who owned it until his death. Two 8,000 gallon underground storage tanks were removed in 1994. By 2014, it had become Scooter Wilson's Auto Repair. That closed, and it has been vacant and fenced off since.
