Providence Hospital was founded in 1902 by the Sisters of Providence, and was located in Oakland, California. Between 1904 to 1972 the hospital conducted a nursing school, in which 1,515 nurses graduated.
In 1992 Providence Hospital was merged with Merritt Peralta Medical Center. Renamed Providence Pavilion North, the building is located at 3100 Summit Street, Oakland (on what was known as 'Pill Hill.'
