The It Only Takes a Pair of Gloves mural commemorates Tommie Smith and John Carlos, who each gave Black Power salutes when awarded the Gold and Bronze medals at the 1968 Olympics.

At times, the mural has read "Born with A Fist" and "Born with Insight a Fist"  and "Born with Insight Raised with a Fist." (See this blog)

It is located on the side of a building at 1125 Mandela Parkway. The building is bright pink, and the lot is scheduled for remediation work.

Right next to the building that has this mural is a chicken farm.
